I was sixteen when I first came to Apelrydsskolan, and it was one of the most brilliant decisions I have made in my life. Right now I am a third-year, just recently back from spending a year in Utah, USA, where I graduated from Taylorsville High School. Though I found high school to be a tremendous experience, there are certain aspects about Apelryd I simply would not change for the world. Firstly, the location: the town of Båstad inhabits about 5000, and is most known to be a huge tourist attraction as it hosts the Swedish Open Tennis Tournament every year. Also the town is absolutely gorgeous. The scenery is fantastic, with a view of the ocean from almost every angle. The beach is only about 100 yards from school, and the summers are always warm and sunny.

Secondly, I must applaud the exceptionally good food we get. Instead of deciding between Deli, Tacos, Pizza or some other form of junk, we all come together to eat in the dining room with food that tastes like it was made by a four star restaurant. All the food is cooked from scratch at the school. Everyday is filled with healthy, nutritious food with a large variety of vegetables choices, and some days when our chef feels like spoiling us, he wakes up early to bake bread for us to eat fresh out of the oven.

Our teachers are also something I must tell you about. Coming to Apelryd, I have met some of the best teachers I have ever encountered, and love the friendly student-teacher relationship. They become like a friend, but with a substantial amount of knowledge in their preferred area. Classes are often filled with laughter and a strong sense of learning and wanting to know more. Each class is given a mentor and together we grow closer and closer every year. They do not only teach in their subjects, but help us to find out who we are as individuals, and explore want we want to do in life.

Lastly, I deeply appreciate is the friendly atmosphere. At this school we take care of each other and after living with everyone for a year at the boarding, you will get to know everyone, and be like a family. You will have no trouble finding good room mates or a place to live in the town for your second and third year. There are few places as friendly as this campus where everyone is accepted and can find a place to call home for the three, probably best, years of your youth.

I highly recommend Apelryd International Boarding School, as it has given me great times and fun memories. I have grown as a person and feel stronger and more confident to go out into the big world of adulthood.
